Head to Jalagamparai waterfall in the hills. It's a 5 km trek to the waterfall and reward yourself with a spectacular view. For the adventure seekers, go trekking to Swamimalai hills. Make it to the top and give yourself a panoramic view of the place. Do visit the nature park near the Punganoor lake. Marvel at the splendid architecture of Jalagandeeswarar temple and listen to the myths. There is an interesting belief about the temple. If you place your hand on an earthen lamp and it rotates, it indicates your prayers are answered. Got a prayer, find out for yourself. Another manmade lake Nilavoor is also a major attraction here. Sign up for a guided tour at the telescope observatory which will open up views of the celestial bodies. If time allows, make sure you don't miss out the Velavan temple and Moksha vimochana temple. The scenic beauty of the herbal farm near Punganoor is something tourists can't resist. Trekkers find absolute fun making their way through Yelagiri (Athanavur) Village-Mangalam Village-Jalagambarai; Athanavur-Y.M.C.A Campus-Samimalai and back.
